I've wanted a slow cooker that would hold a roast and a large quantity of carrots, potatoes, etc. This Hamilton Beach 8 qt meets all criteria with the exception of not being programmable. Can't have everything, right?

This unit cooks as well as any crock pot. I suppose they all work pretty well since the older one I had previously borrowed from my neighbor worked fine too.....

This is a Nice and big crock pot so you can cook large meals for freezing....I have been very happy with the purchase, although I kind of wish I had gotten a programmable one
